Vintage Phase Linear 4000 Autocorrelation Preamplifier
New lower price
The 4000 Autocorrelation Preamplifier was a collaboration design by Bob Carver and Bill Skinner. It was designed to expand or decompress the sonics of recorded material. In audio parlance, it's called dynamic headroom and back in the day was capable of playing back SQ 4 channel encoded vinyls. In the midst of all the knobs and toggles was the four channel balance joystick. This item was designed and made in the USA.
This 4000 has the capability of controlling up to six components: a tuner, two tape decks, two turntables and an auxiliary input (see connection diagram below). It also has three switched and three unswitched AC plugs. The Phase Linear 4000 was manufactured from 1973 to 1977 and it's still highly sought after today.
This item is in great condition and working perfectly. All of our electronics are functionally tested against the published specifications to the extent possible.
Included with the PL 4000 is a copy of the Operation Manual. This item is also available for local pickup in Zip Code; 91723. This item does not ship international.
